Student-led philanthropy

Philanthropy and service are an integral part of life at SI.  Our students are frequently engaged in activities that support the school and the communities in which we live and work.  You can participate in these projects alongside the next generation of SI alumni!

SI on Crowdrise

Students at the School of Information are actively fundraising using the social networking site crowdrise.com. The funds will support SI’s Alternative Spring Break, where students spend a week volunteering their skills at nonprofit educational and cultural institutions in  New York, Chicago, Detroit and Washington DC.  It's a great way to encourage these enterprising students in their volunteer efforts and support a very worthwhile program.  Learn how to become a host organization and support this important effort here.

SI Service Day

On Saturday January 14, 2012, during the Martin Luther King weekend, over 110 SI students, faculty, and staff participated in SI Service Day – putting their skills and talents to work at one of several Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area nonprofits. The project created opportunities to develop and strengthen relationships between the School of Information and local cultural organizations by utilizing the unique abilities and interests of the SI community.
