Elizabeth Everson, MSI ‘10
Consultant, Booz Allen Hamilton
Washington, D.C.
Before coming to SI, Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree in Russian and east European studies and classical music at Macalester College.
While at SI, Elizabeth found SI 501 to be the most valuable course to her career success. “It was the single SI class that best prepared me for my current work as a consultant with federal agencies," she says. "Maintaining a professional attitude and producing quality work products while working in new and potentially difficult situations is an incredibly valuable skill for anyone.”
Elizabeth also worked as a processor at the Bentley Historical Library, a Slavic-language cataloger at the Hatcher Graduate Library, and as a Junior Fellow intern in the Rare Books and Special Collections Division at the Library of Congress during her time at SI. Although her internship does not directly relate to her current career, Elizabeth says that “my internship did help me make friends in the library field and introduce me to life in Washington, D.C., where I plan on living for a long time.”
After graduating from SI, Elizabeth worked as a cataloging librarian at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. At her current position at Booz Allen Hamilton, Elizabeth assists federal agencies with the establishment, implementation, and continuation of their records management programs. She also provides guidance on federal rules and regulations pertaining to records management.
