Before SI: Earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in philosophy, politics, and economics. Worked as a federal investigator for the Federal Trade Commission, primarily looking at consumer fraud ocurring over the Internet.
At SI: Was a dual-degree student in SI, the Ford School of Public Policy, and the Law School at U-M. Worked with Associate Professor Virginia Rezmierski as a research assistant on two projects. One was sponsored by the National Science Foundation on logging and monitoring at colleges and universities, and the other concerned information technology incidents at universities, in which he studied costs and created a model CIO's can use to better understand how to address IT security.
After SI: Now an attorney in the Bureau of Consumer Protection of the Federal Trade Commission. He works in the areas of financial practices and Internet privacy and security, investigating and bringing cases on behalf of the commission. He represents consumers who have been the victims of unfair and deceptive practices.
