Skills, Goals, and Preferences

Describe your computer skills. (languages, software, programming)

Discuss briefly your short- and long-term goals. Are you considering graduate work in engineering, economics, or information science?

Describe your research interests. Explain why you are interested in having a summer research opportunity.

Provide a short personal statement. Describe, for example, previous experience you have in research, additional experiences that demonstrate your ability to work independently and in a small-group setting, what you hope to gain in an REU summer experience, etc.

Indicate your project preference. Why you are appropriate for this project? See the list of REU research projects.

Recommendation Letter

Write the name, email address, and affiliation of your recommender. Your application will not be complete until a letter of recommendation from a faculty member is sent to woollams@umich.edu. Please put "SI REU Recommendation Letter" in the subject line.
