University of Michigan School of Information
New transfers
We welcome students from other institutions, including community colleges and four-year colleges and universities, to apply to the School of Information as “new transfer” students! This page should provide you with the links you need to learn about transferring into the Bachelor of Science in Information program.
Students join us at the beginning of their sophomore or junior year to complete their four-year degree at UMSI. We offer outstanding support for students joining us midway through their undergraduate career, and we understand that students transferring in may have different life circumstances, including family and work responsibilities. Available resources include:
- The iSuccess program, a UMSI program specifically designed for transfer students to start building community and to support your successful transition to U-M
- Academic support, including tutoring and academic writing help
- Generous financial aid
