Winter 2024 roster of Data Science/Computational Social Science seminar speakers announced

University of Michigan School of Information faculty have announced the speakers for the winter 2024 Data Science/Computational Social Science (DS/CSS) seminar series. 

The DS/CSS seminar series brings together a vibrant and diverse community of scholars whose cutting-edge research in information science, computer science and the social sciences aims to broaden our understanding of important social and technological issues. 

The events are scheduled for Thursdays at noon ET. All meetings will be held in the Ehrlicher Room, 3100 North Quad. 

The DS/CSS seminar series is designed to be experienced in-person. Remote UMSI Master of Applied Data Science students can contact the series organizers for Zoom access. Seminars will be recorded and uploaded to YouTube.

Organizers for the winter 2024 series are assistant professors Paramveer Dhillon and Sabina Tomkins.

Topics and abstracts will be announced on the UMSI website closer to each event.

April 4: Nicholas Weber, University of Washington 

April 11: Allison Koenecke, Cornell University 

April 18: Mina Lee, University of Chicago/Microsoft Research

April 25: David Rand, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
