Jessica Sendra
Biography
Jessica Webster Sendra is associate director of marketing and communications at the University of Michigan School of Information, where she co-leads the team responsible for the school's brand, editorial content, digital channels and paid media. She joined UMSI in 2019.
Her work spans strategic communications planning, student recruitment campaigns, faculty research storytelling, and social media strategy, with a focus on connecting UMSI's work to the audiences who need it most.
Jessica came to higher education by way of newsrooms and the music industry. She began her career in corporate retail purchasing and marketing before her love of storytelling brought her to a career as a newspaper reporter, editor and columnist. Immediately prior to joining UMSI, Jessica worked as a public relations representative and science writer for the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center. She is also a longtime jazz journalist and radio host, and has hosted the Sunday afternoon program "The In Crowd" on WEMU for more than three decades.
When she's not working, Jessica loves exploring the world.
