Dent Endowed Scholarship supports graduate students and honors a unique legacy 07/13/2023 Valeda Dent, PhD (MILS ‘92), established the Johnnie O. Dent Endowed Scholarship Fund in honor of her mother, one of the first African American students to attend UMSI. More info Parents of twins donate to UMSI, Kinesiology in honor of daughters 10/03/2022 Lisa and Mike Burke, parents of Kara and Kelsey Burke, made an endowed scholarship gift to both the School of Kinesiology and the School of Information at the University of Michigan. The Hong Burke Scholarship fund will support U-M students in finishing their education. Beshore, a 1954 UMSI alumna, will be added to the graduate student scholarship fund, inspiring generations of students to realize their dreams. More info Leinweber Foundation gives $25 million to build U-M Leinweber Computer Science and Information Building 10/21/2021 A $25 million gift from the Leinweber Foundation, founded by software entrepreneur Larry Leinweber, will help fund a new 163,000 square foot state of the art facility on the university’s North Campus.
